MUSICAL CABARET! OMG!!
The Good Ship announce dates for their modern maritime epic at Brisbane Powerhouse
Friday, 11 JAN, 2013
A live cabaret/musical performance by The Good Ship featuring Sandro Colarelli.
The Good Ship reveal their latest creation – a stage work entitled The Seven Seas. Expanded from the band's song of the same name, The Seven Seas tells of a boy looking to exact revenge upon the sea for the deaths of his father and brother by conquering her in all her might. But what will he lose to do so? And why is the storyteller so forthright in telling his tale?
Collaborating with acclaimed performer and singer Sandro Colarelli and featuring the beautiful animation of Brett Harris, The Seven Seas brings to life a new suite of story-songs along with wry reworkings of two of the band's live favourites. Director Kat Henry brings these strands together to form an engaging and compelling new whole. The result will be a show like no other from The Good Ship – intimate, reflective and immersive but still with all the heart and dynamics of the incredible live shows for which they are known and loved.
This event is recommended for people aged 15 years
and older.

O' Exquisite Corpse
Album Out Now!
FRIDAY, 29 JUNE, 2012
We've just completed our second album O' Exquisite Corpse, a work of dark, sweaty, heaving beauty, featuring The Good Ship's trademark blend of sweet melodies and debauched lyrics. The band have managed to create an album steeped in rich harmonies and lush instrumentation, all the while retaining the shambolic glory of their live show.
The album was produced by the band in conjunction with Neil Coombe at The White Room Studios, whose credits include DZ Deathrays, The Go Betweens and the John Steel Singers. It was a difficult and somewhat messy birth, with much of the recording done in loungerooms and bedrooms across Brisbane, before being masterfully brought together by Neil.
The result is 11 songs that range from sugary pop to rollicking country to the darkest balladry. The overwhelmingly dark themes of death, murder, prostitution and the supernatural are tempered by snippets of humour and light.

Sin City, Sweet Clip!
Friday, 16 November, 2012
To coincide with the release of our third single from the album O' Exquisite Corpse, The Good Ship got greased up and let loose to film the clip for sultry lil' Sin City Sweetheart.
It tells the semi-tall tale of Mr Harris' Las Vegas adventures: crashing honeymoons, forbidden fruits and punctual prostitution... A man so desperate for love within a town of unfathomable pleasures, that he falls for an ageing, broken, one-armed, one-eyed woman—who steals his heart as quickly as she does his wallet.

Seven Seas – Film Clip
Thursday, 05 APRIL, 2012
It's been nearly two years since THE GOOD SHIP stormed the beaches with their debut album Avast! Wretched Sea.
That album saw them receive rave reviews from around the world, a slew of festival spots including Woodford and an invited performance at Brisbane Festival, and a legion of dedicated fans. Now they are nearing completion of their second full- length, due for release mid 2012. To get the ball rolling they're launching the first single "Seven Seas" with an East Coast tour throughout April.
Seven Seas is sung from the perspective of a sea dog locked in a prison cell for murder, not regretting his actions but only lamenting the fact that he cannot reach his beloved ocean. The song is typical of the band's musical approach, with an upbeat and jaunty feel hiding a dark and morbid sentiment.

Won't sombody please, please, please, take me to the Seven Seas?
